Student of the Month

The Colfax Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize outstanding students within our community.

The Student of the Month program celebrates individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, community involvement, and exemplary character.

Honorees will be featured in local news outlets and social media and become eligible for a scholarship sponsored by the Colfax Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.

Celebrating Our Student of the Month:
Addison Watkins!

December

“Hi! My name is Addison Watkins. I am the daughter of Rob and Jalayna Watkins, and I am honored to have been selected as the Colfax Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month.

I am involved in many activities at Colfax High School as well as in the community. I am a current member of National Honor Society, Colfax FFA, Washington State FFA District IV Secretary, football/basketball cheer, golf, Knowledge Bowl, Distinguished Young Woman, and ASB. I was selected to be one of the 2025-2026 Palouse Empire Fair Ambassadors and am participating in both Jazz and Concert bands. During the summer, I work part-time at JTI. This past October, my FFA Agricultural Sales team and I were honored to represent Washington State at the National FFA Convention where we placed 2^nd in the nation.

I volunteered at the Colfax Food Pantry, setting up flags at the Colfax Cemetery for Memorial Day, and spent many hours assisting with the Colfax DYW Program. I was excited to repaint a historical painting on the Swine Barn at the Palouse Empire Fair and added a painting to the Youth Agricultural Pavillion. I also spend time assisting in setting up the Swine Barn before the fair.

After high school, I plan on pursuing a degree in Secondary Education; specifically teaching History, Social Studies, and English. I have applied to a few colleges and am still deciding where I want to attend. Thank you again for selecting me as the December Student of the Month.”

Please submit completed nomination forms to the Colfax Chamber of Commerce via:

Deadline for Submission: Nominations for the Student of the Month program are due by the last day of the month for consideration for the following month. For example, nominations submitted by January 31st will be considered for February’s Student of the Month.

Please ensure all nominations are submitted on or before the deadline.
