Join Us July 26th for a Full Day of Fun!
What has been known as Summerfest in recent years has deep roots in many past celebrations, including Concrete River Days, Crazy Days, and more. Given the uniqueness of Colfax, especially our concrete river, and the fond memories so many in the community have of Concrete River Days, it’s the perfect time to bring this tradition back.
While the event name is changing, the goal remains the same:
We’re here to bring the community together, celebrate all that Colfax has to offer, and create lasting memories. Although we can’t use the canal this year due to debris from the flooding, we’re excited about future years when we can bring back events like the rubber duck races, fun run, and more!
“My name is Jacob Ward, I am a son of William and Kristina Ward. I am honored to be recognized by the Colfax Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month. I have participated in athletics like Golf, Swimming, and Cross Country over the course of my High School Career. I am part of the FCCLA Chapter of Colfax, I take part in the School Musicals and in the Schools Concert band as well as their Jazz band. For Concert/Jazz Band I play Trumpet, Piano, and the Alto Sax. I learned trumpet at the beginning of my Junior Year hear and with the help of the Band Director Mr. Morgan and his Student Teachers, I was able to receive an Outstanding Musician award for playing at an event we traveled to.
When I am not in school I work Part-Time at Colfax’s Pharmacy as a Cashier. I have worked as a lifeguard in the past until the pool went under construction. After High School, I plan to go over to Europe for a few weeks over the summer to play music for a chance to travel the world, then go into the Military for ROTC and schooling in multiple fields, including, Auto Mechanic, and Animal Veterinarian. Once again I am grateful to the Colfax Chamber of Commerce for their recognition of me.”
Congratulations Jacob!
